Who we are
This website is run by George Marshall trading as Signpost Studio ("we", "us"). We are the data controller for personal information collected through this website. You can contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Contact form: your name, business name, email address, phone number (optional), current website (optional) and your message.
- Emails and calls: anything you choose to tell us when you contact us directly.
- Technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to keep the site secure and working.
We do not use analytics or advertising cookies. See our cookie policy.
How we use it and why
- To reply to your enquiry and prepare your free mockup. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests (responding to people who contact us) and, where you go ahead, taking steps to enter into a contract.
- To deliver and look after your website if you become a client (contract).
- To keep financial records (legal obligation).
We will never sell your information or add you to a mailing list without your clear consent.
Who we share it with
We only share your information with service providers who help us run the business, such as our website host (Cloudflare), our contact form provider and our email provider. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, they use legal safeguards approved under UK data protection law.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not lead to work: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client records: for as long as we work together, then 6 years for tax and accounting purposes.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to or restrict how we use it, and to have it transferred to someone else. To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will reply within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
